Peptide Therapy
What Is Peptide Therapy?
Peptides are chains of amino acids that work to regulate a variety of biological functions and processes. They are naturally occurring and act as signalling molecules within the body and instruct other cells and parts of the body on what functions to perform.
In humans, there are over 7,000 known peptides. Each is responsible for eliciting different responses and actions within the body. Common functions of peptides are pain reduction, aid in soft tissue repair, acceleration of healing processes, promotion of weight loss, improvement in lean muscle development, help in sexual dysfunction, and support of hormone production.
Peptide Therapy works by selecting peptides with specific amino acid sequences to achieve optimal effects in the body.
Who is a candidate for Peptide Therapy?
Peptide Therapy is a goal driven treatment with a range of applications. Patients who most often benefit from it are those seeking help with:
- Chronic pain management
- Weight loss
- Improvement in sports performance
- Enhanced muscle mass developement
- Aid in joint and soft tissue injury repair
- Reduction in healing time from surgery
- Inflammatory bowel diseases
- Erectile dysfunction not responsive to typical medications
How Are Peptides Taken?
Just like there are varying applications for Peptide Therapy based on each person’s needs, what type of strategy is used depends on the goals of treatment.
All of the peptides we offer are either taken by subcutaneous injection or pill form.
If treating chronic conditions or supporting sports performance over a longer period of time, more than a single peptide is often used in a cycling pattern to reduce the risk of decreased effectiveness.
Because some of the therapies provide signals to optimize hormone responses in the body, we need to check those levels with blood work before and periodically during treatment. Specific information about this is detailed in the treatment options below.
Peptide Therapy Plans
Pain Management
BPC-157 and Thymosin Beta-4 (TB-500)
BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid sequence complex that upregulates growth hormone receptors, increases nitric oxide, and activates the FAK-paxillin pathway.
Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43 amino acid sequence actin sequestering peptide that upregulates actin, collagen, and blood vessel development.
-Subcutaneous injections given once daily for 21-28 days
-Starts with BPC-157
-If needed, pain management is continued by switching to TB-500
-Combination can be cycled every 3 months for chronic pain control
If being used to treat an acute injury or recent surgery, the medications are combined. Please see the applicable section below.
Medication and supplies- $265/month
Initial consultation $75 but is applied to your first month of medication.
Weight Loss
Ipamorelin/CJC1295
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide that selectively increases growth hormone and ghrelin.
CJC1295 is a 29 amino acid sequence that is a selective tetrasubstituted version of sermorelin that functions like growth hormone releasing hormone.
Individually, the 2 peptide helpwith increasing metabolism, muscle development, and weight loss. Together yields up to 5 times the results.
-Subcutaneous injection take 5 out 7 evenings.
-Must be cycled on 3 months and off 3 months to prevent reduced effectiveness
Requires initial labs
Cost
Initial labs and weight loss consultation- $150
Medication and supplies- $280/month
Sports Performance Optimization and Muscle Development
Sermorelin – Ipamorelin – Ibutamoren
These are associated with increased muscle mass development, shorter recovery times, improved sports performance.
Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acid sequence of growth hormone stimulating hormone and binds directly with the pituitary gland.
Ipamorelin is a growth hormone releasing hormone mimetic and growth hormone releasing in peptide.
Ibutamoren is not technically a peptide but has a structure similar to growth hormone releasing peptide-6
Require initial labs
Each type is generally cycled on for 3 months and off for 3 months with the option of changing peptide types to prevent lapses in performance optimization.
Cost
Initial consultation and labs- $150
Medication and supplies- $285/month
Joint/Soft Tissue Injury and Postoperative Recovery
BPC-157 and Thymosin Beta-4 Combination
BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid sequence complex that upregulates growth hormone receptors, increases nitricoxide, and activates the FAK-paxillin pathway.
Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43 amino acid sequence actin sequestering peptide that upregulates actin, collagen, and blood vessel development.
-Subcutaneous injections given once daily for 21-28 days
Cost
Medication and supplies- $495/month
Initial consultation $75 but is applied to your first month of medication.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
BPC-157 Oral
BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid sequence complex that upregulates growth hormone receptors, increases nitric oxide, and activates the FAK-paxillin pathway.
-When taken orally, it has been shown to reduce inflammatory symptoms and complications patient with bowel conditions like IBD, IBS, and esophagitis.
-If needed, pain management is continued by switching to TB-500
-Cycled off every 3 to 4 months if needed for long term symptom management.
Cost
Medication- $240/month
Consultation required prior to prescription. Fee for visit is $75 but is applied toward your first month of medication.
Erectile Dysfunction
PT-141
PT-141 is a 7 amino acid sequence melanocortin receptor agonist that selectively binds to the MC1R and MC4R receptors in the hypothalamus and penis. Is used to treat erectile dysfunction, including vasogenic ED.
-Show to be 80% effective in successful treatment of erectile dysfunction in men who have failed to respond to typical ED medications like tadalafil (Cialis) and sildenafil (Viagra).
-Also improves libido
-Subcutaneous injection taken 30 minutes to 6 hours prior to sex.
Cost
Medication and supplies- $240/month
Consultation required prior to prescription. Fee for visit $75 but is applied toward your first month of medication.
